Husthwaite Film club opened it’s doors in 2011. What started as an idea from a budding young film fanatic has continued to grow it’s audience over the years.
The club shows a wide variety of films from different genres at the village hall and takes place on the last Friday of each month starting at 7.30pm.
Each year, we run two special events; a short film festival in June, a rare opportunity to see short films not widely available, and a Christmas special in December, with film themed cocktail to set the tone!
To cover the cost of licencing and for the hire of the venue, funding is by suggested donation. While donations are entirely voluntary, the club can only function if sufficient donations are received. Suggested donations are as follows:
Annual donation:
- Adult £15, Family £35
- Per evening £3 (U16 £2)
All annual donors are entered into a year end raffle to thank you for your support. Donations can be gift aided.

As a footnote, the young founder has continued with his love of film, he currently runs his own videography business in Edinburgh and has received awards for two short films.
