The New Village Hall Takes Shape
We felt that it would be useful to update the village on progress regarding the next stage of our lottery bid.
The key date remains the 19th of July when we will submit our stage 3 application to the Big Lottery.

Last week we held a 4 hour open session in the village hall where committee members were on hand to share the design of the new hall and the plans which will be submitted to Hambleton District Council.
Over 60 villagers attended the event and the general consensus was very positive. People especially liked the overall layout of the building; the entrance area and the committee room. In terms of overall look there was a desire for more bricks (less render) and there was an overwhelming opinion in favour of a green roof at the front of the building.
We are also making progress on the fund raising front (as part of the bid we have to raise £50,000) with funding being pledged by Orchards of Husthwaite.
Forthcoming activities
This week (w/c 14th May) will see the submission of our planning application.
