Book exchange

news

The Book Exchange got off to a flying start on December 6th, when about 40 people turned up over the 2 hour session to bring and borrow books, have a chat and a cup of tea or coffee, and a mince pie.

This sociable occasion was followed on 20th December by another similar enjoyable session. We now have huge new bookcases and plenty of different books for everyone, but space for more if you can offer paperback sized books in good condition, fiction or non-fiction.

The sessions run the first and third Tuesday of every month in the Village Hall. As well as going in a small way to replace the withdrawn mobile library, the Exchange offers a chance to meet others and have some refreshments if you want.

We run from 10.30-12.30.

If you have already attended and borrowed books for your Christmas reading, don't forget the next session is on Tuesday January 3rd . Please return books you have read for others to enjoy!

At the moment the Exchange is run by Jacki Barlow, Margaret Hewitson and Jan Coulthard. If you would like to help, please let us know and we could plan a rota.
