Easingwold Town Band Gears Up for 2012

news

Easingwold Town Band is starting a Training Band in February. It will be open to players of brass band instruments aged from 8 years upwards. The Training Band will give young brass players a great opportunity to develop their technique and to learn how to play well in a group. With no upper age limit, it aims also to attract older players -- perhaps those who would like to take up music-making again after a break, or are interested in supporting their children by learning to play themselves.

The Training Band will be launched at the Town Band's concert 'A Night at the Movies' in the Galtres Centre, Easingwold on Saturday 18 February (watch out for advertisements in the local press). Free membership of the Training Band will be on offer for a trial period, and some instruments can be made available for those who don't own or have the use of one already.

The Training Band will rehearse on Friday evenings from 6.30 to 8 p.m. at the Town Band's bandroom in Croft Close, Easingwold, adjacent to the Galtres Centre car park (postcode YO61 3DA). Alistair Shipman, the Town Band's Musical Director, will conduct, assisted by adult members of the Town Band.
