Glue and Glitter is back!
What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than in the village hall with other grandparents, mums and dads and lots of children, designing Christmas cards and baubles, icing biscuits , cutting out snowflakes, making "stained glass windows" and chatting with others of all ages.
With plenty of craft materials to choose from, the children waded in and swiftly began creating Christmas decorations and cards, followed by the adults some of whom ,while helping , "did their own thing!" Finished masterpieces were hung on the tree to dry, then taken home by proud owners.
One little boy said, "Thank you. I've had a really lovely time. Please can I come back next week?" Unfortunately not, but never mind as a similar event will take place before Easter, decorating eggs and taking part in the Husthwaite Egg Rolling Competition. Everyone should watch out for the adverts and posters.
This November event was organised by Alison Gambles, so a big thank you to her and all the helpers, especially those sweeping up all the glitter and washing up the glue pots! Some of us are still finding glitter in our hair.
The event was supported financially by the Village Trust, so thanks to them too.
It was a real success so will definitely be repeated next year.
