There have been a number of very positive comments from villagers about Rascills.
The owners, Richard and Lindsey have given us the following information:
Rascills restaurant was opened in October 2016, just outside Raskelf. The restaurant is uniquely sited on a working farm and is very uniquely operated by just a team of two. (Us!)
Richard cooks and Lindsey serves. The restaurant has an airy, comfortable, spacious dining room, which can comfortably accommodate twenty guests (25 for private parties).
Our style is very relaxed and friendly but at the same time standard driven.
Richard endeavours to cook the very best of British food, sourcing as much local produce as possible. The food is designed to satisfy rather than challenge. Rascills in essence is all about folks enjoying their time out. Full details can be found on the website www.rascillsrestaurant.vpweb.co.uk
Rascills has been listed in the current 2018 Good Food and Michelin guides within the first eleven months of trading. This represents the top 2% of UK restaurants.
Having taken a huge leap of faith in setting up in the area and over coming several serious challenges, we hope to carry on our success gained from operating in East Yorkshire.
There we owned and operated Artisan restaurant for nine years, very similar in style to Rascills, which gained us a national reputation.
We were once reviewed and dubbed 'Hulls angels' by leading food critic Jay Rayner. We also took on a very rural and troubled East Yorkshire pub, Falcon Inn, for a short period of time and completely turned the place around.
Within ten months at the Falcon we were voted a top 30 UK dining pub by the Good Food guide and was included in the Michelin eating out pub guide.
We try our up most to please our customers with honest food and service with a smile!
