Hambleton Local Plan - Public Consultation 11th January to 19th February 2016

Hambleton District Council is starting work on a new Local Plan. We want to hear your views on how we approach strategic decisions about where new development such
as housing and employment should go and what you think the local and strategic issues are for the District up to 2035.

Last summer we held a number of workshops with a number of organisations who have interests in Hambleton including local businesses, utility providers, healthcare organisations, housing providers and local interest groups and this helped us to compile a list of key issues, challenges and opportunities facing the District. This has informed the preparation of an Issues and Options document and you are invited to comment on this document during a 6 week public consultation period running from

Monday 11th January 2016 and closing at 5pm on Friday 19th February 2016.

We will be holding a series of public consultation drop in sessions across the District during the consultation period and you are invited to come along to find out more and share your views with planning officers who will be on hand to answer any questions. The schedule of dates for the public drop in sessions are listed below:

Galtres Centre, Lounge area, Easingwold, Tuesday 12th January 2016, 2pm to 7pm
Thirsk Town Hall, Large Annexe, Thirsk, Thursday 14th January 2016, 2pm to 6.30pm
Northallerton Town Hall, Lower Hall, Northallerton, Tuesday 19th January 2016, 2pm to 7pm
Stokesley Town Hall, Stokesley Room, Stokesley, Thursday 21st January 2016, 2pm to 7pm
Bedale Hall, Ball Room, Bedale, Thursday 28th January 2016, 2pm to 7pm

From 11th January 2016, you will be able to view an online version of the Issues and Options document at Hard copies of the document
will also be available to view at the libraries and Hambleton District Council offices in Northallerton, Easingwold and Stokesley. We would like you to send us your comments and share your views on the document by completing an online questionnaire which you will also be able to access from the above website.
The questionnaire will be accessible from the 11th January until 5pm on 19th February 2016.

The council will use the comments it receives in response to this consultation to help develop the Preferred Options for the Local Plan. Consultation on the Preferred Options will take place in Autumn 2016 and after this you will have the opportunity to give us feedback on a draft version of the Plan.
