Husthwaite visits The Yorkshire Sculpture Park

news

Visit the new Barbara Hepworth Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park ....Sunday 6 July
The brand new Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield is amazing, a purpose-built home for the work of one of Britain's most important sculptors. Barbara Hepworth grew up in Wakefield and did most of her work in St Ives. The Gallery does a wonderful job of explaining her place in the story of British art.

Morning coffee on arrival and then a 45 minute guided tour of the Gallery.
In the afternoon to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, 7 miles away.
Lunch there (picnic or cafe), then a short talk to introduce this unusual place.
YSP has 500 acres of beautiful landscape with a permanent display of outdoor sculpture, five indoor galleries and special exhibitions....plus excellent cafe and gallery shop.
Entry to both places is free but we have to pay for the guided tours
and we need to make individual arrangements for lunch and transport. The basic cost will be £10 each for the two guides. More information to come.
