Husthwaite Ramblers

news

Just a quick note to remind you that the next walk has been arranged for Sun 22nd September, meeting at the village green at 13.30hrs.  Please note that the parking is free and is very limited and would urge those wishing to go to share transport.

The length of this walk is less than 6 miles and will take around 3 hours.  It starts at the Sutton-Under-Whitestonecliffe Village Hall and follows the footpaths and bridleways through old woodland and across open farmland, via Thirlby, whilst being shrouded by Boltby Scar.  The route runs around the end of the tranquill lake of Gormire and returns to the starting point.

This is an easy walk which is mostly flat but there are 3 steady elevations of around 300 ft along the route.  I am afraid that there are a number of stiles that have no alternative access for dogs and dogs will have to be lifted over (Sorry).

If anyone wishes to go and is struggling for transport please let me know and I will send out a request for village assistance.  Please dress appropriately for the expected weather and you may wish to bring a drink and snacks.  We look forward to your company on the walk.
