On Wednesday the 4th of September, Hustwhaite School hosted a steering group meeting of the 7 community hubs set up under a project establsihed by Rural Action Yorkshire.
The aim of the project is to develop 7 community hubs across North Yorkshire offering preventative social care and early intervention whilst meeting local need. Husthwaite was selected as one of these communities. The others are: Cold Kirby; Dalton and Gayles; Brompton by Sawdown; Weaverthorpe; Pannal and Glusburn.
The monthly film club was set up as one of the activities supported by the community hub project.
The steering group meeting is held every 3 months and one of the benefits of these meetings is the chance to share experience across the different communities. At this month's meeting Debbie Lewis Green shared her fund raising approach for Husthwaite Village Hall; Cameron Smith followed with a quick overview of Orchards of Husthwaite where there was clear demand for the original report which was published as well as a taste of cider.
