Auction of Promises

news

On the 6th of October at 7.30pm we are holding an auction of promises to raise funds for the village hall. The evening promises to be an entertaining event. Andrew Black has agreed to be the auctioneer for the evening and we suggest that you scratch your ear with care, otherwise you may end up with a load of manure or maybe a Xmas Cake.

We are looking for promises from anyone who is able to donate a gift or offer their time for a useful service.

Our list of promises is growing and the following are a taster of what is in store:

Painting of Husthwaite village green
Sutton Bank gliding voucher
Trip in a vintage car
A pair of curtains from the Curtain Room
Galtres Cider from our very own Orchards of Husthwaite
A Bit of Gamble will provide musical entertainment at your event
A Fly Fishing Session
A horse hack for 2 around Sutton bank
A half-day Mountain Bike ride
2 hours worth of ironing
Taxi within a 25 mile radius
A cut and blow dry at the Hair Studio

On the night the bar will be open and we will have tea and coffee available as well as half-time nibbles.

Everyone is welcome and there will be some interesting promises on offer which will give you the opportunity to buy something useful and help raise funds for the village hall at the same time.

You can even visit facebook site and check the latest promises that have been made. Click here.

We will be sending a brochure of promises round the village the week before the auction and we will also accept bids in advance for those who are unable to attend on the night.

If you have a promise to offer please call Will Mowatt on 868196 or Malcolm French on 868779.
